Is James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Trailer Airing With The ‘Superman & Lois’ Final Episode?

With the Superman & Lois final episode airing tonight, apparently some fans think James Gunn might be releasing the highly anticipated Superman movie trailer starring David Corenswet.

While the Superman trailer won’t be released tonight with the Superman & Lois final episode, the fans likely at least have the month of December correct.

When will the Superman trailer be released?

The best guess is that the Superman trailer will be released around the release of Disney’s Mufasa The Lion King around Christmastime.

Worth a mention is that James Gunn isn’t going to release the big trailer when the ratings for the Superman & Lois final season are the lowest of the series. Again, it’s likely Gunn wants as many eyes as possible in front of the trailer.

While it was also thought this week’s Brazil CCXP convention would have been a good opportunity to release the trailer, Gunn has confirmed he won’t be there, and Gunn also confirmed DCU co-head Peter Safran won’t be there.

Regarding the Superman & Lois final episode, Michael Cudlitz, who plays the show’s Lex Luthor, tweeted out as far as he knows, it’s not premiering tonight.

The episode has since aired, and the James Gunn Superman trailer has not been released. The flick opens July 11, 2025.
