It’s now said James Gunn’s Superman trailer will be screening for press on Monday with the big reveal and release on Thursday.
Update: Gunn released the first poster, a teaser and confirmed the trailer drops on Thursday.
News of the press event first came from YouTuber Grace Randolph and then Jeff Sneider recently said more of the same. A YouTuber now also says the Superman trailer press event will be held Monday and includes a photo.
“Superman trailer press event is now actually the week of the 16th. So the trailer will drop sometime after that event…”Randolph tweeted. “The event is for select press, limited invites.”
As the YouTuber points out, with Gunn screening the trailer early, be on the lookout for spoilers.
“Press screener for the Superman trailer tomorrow. Don’t understand why they wouldn’t just release it a few hours later to the public. I’m sure the press won’t spoil anything… smh,” Mason tweeted.

When will the Superman trailer be released?
Regarding the Superman trailer release, scooper Daniel RPK chimes and and says James Gunn’s Superman trailer will be released on Thursday.
Recall how I asked my friend that runs a big movie theater in Hollywood that he said they won’t know what trailers are attached to which movies until a day before the release. It’s as everyone suspected, the Superman trailer looks to be playing in front of Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King, which debuts Thursday with its preview day and officially on Friday. So movie theaters could either get the trailer on Wednesday or even that Thursday.
I’m guessing if the Superman trailer does get released on Thursday, it will likely drop around noon eastern time. Update: Gunn confirms the trailer will drop at 9am EST.

I also have to agree with the YouTuber. I don’t like how James Gunn is promoting the release of the trailer. It seems to be that only a select group of media sites are getting the invites, probably the chosen few that were allowed to gush over the release of his Creature Commandos series. So they’ll be allowed to either watch a teaser for the trailer or the entire trailer. There will be promo interviews and such to go along with it. Of course, some of them are going to tell their buddies who are going to leak it all online. It’s already said the Superman trailer is all about Krypto, what else is there? Kinda frustrating, TBH.
Maye we’ll at least get a Superman poster on Monday. I figured Gunn would do something to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the release of Richard Donner and Christopher Reeve’s Superman movie, which is today, but there’s nothing. We just have to wait a few more days.
