I had hoped that after how bad Season 2 was—especially with that split season—they would improve Season 3 and bring it more in line with the stellar first season. However, so far, Invincible Season 3 sucks. It’s slow, filler-heavy, and boring.
Back in the day, we used to call comics written by Brian Michael Bendis “talking heads” because that’s all they were—panel after panel of character heads with word balloons full of dialogue. Invincible Season 3 reminds me of that.
My 17-year-old loved the first season, didn’t like the second, and isn’t a fan of Season 3 either. He says about 40% of it is just Eve and Mark talking on the roof. He also says that every episode is just Mark getting his ass kicked. He’s not wrong.

Invincible Season 3: Episodes 1 -5 review
You know what else Invincible reminds me of? The Walking Dead.
Remember how the first season was frickin’ awesome and a must-watch? But as the show went on, you (or at least I) realized you only needed to watch the first and last episode. Everything in between felt like filler—just a bunch of nothing happening. People stopped watching.
That’s Invincible Season 3 in a nutshell. Nothing is going on. As I tweeted to Robert Kirkman, the creator of Invincible: it’s all blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
There are only three episodes left—what’s happened so far? Mark left the GDA. Oliver grew up. That’s about it.

I don’t care about Debbie and Paul’s relationship. I don’t care about the multiple gay relationships. I don’t need a lecture on how Mark supposedly sees every Black person the same. I don’t care that Amber might be dating someone new. I don’t care who makes dinner. And honestly, I don’t even care about Mark’s relationship with Eve—he just comes off as a big simp.
The best part of the series is Omni-Man and Allen the Alien in space, but that’s only been a minutes-long epilogue in an episode.
Let me guess—they’ll finally make their way back to Earth in the last episode, and then we’ll have to wait two years for new episodes because the “boring-ass animation” takes so long. Meanwhile, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes somehow put out 26 episodes a year, and the cartoons I grew up with managed even more.

Speaking of animation, what was up with Episode 5? I noticed it looked off, and other people on X mentioned it, too, replying to the official account about today’s new episode. Eve also does all the cool shit, while again, Mark gets his ass kicked.
Am i tripping or is the animation a little weird this episode not bad but sum feels off

Another complaint I have is that Season 3 is just rehashing old storylines and the same villains over and over. It’s another Future Imperfect, it’s Mole Man, it’s the Blood Brothers, it’s The Kingpin. It’s Fing Fang Foom. It’s b-o-r-i-n-g.
When are we going to get to the good stuff? It’s becoming a series where it makes you want to fast-forward through all the bullshit. There’s way too much exposition that no one cares about.
This show isn’t Invincible—it’s on life support.
Episode 6 review:
Per what my 17-year-old said above, episode 6 actually has THREE rooftop scenes. Wow. This episode also feels a lot like filler.
So about that Powerplex fight? It reminded me of the argument a lot of Superman fans made about Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. I think it was comic book writer and big time Superman fan Mark Waid who brought up the point that Superman should have brought the fight to a nearby cornfield, away from a populated place where people could get hurt in downtown Smallville. So in the Powerplex fight, why didn’t Eve just capture him again? Or since Powerplex wanted to fight Invincible so badly, why didn’t Invincible just fly away, and tell Powerplex, “If you want to fight me, follow me!” That’s what a real hero would have done. That way, the family would have been saved and survived. Hello.
Note: I haven’t watched Episode 7 as of yet. After watching Episode 6, my 17-year -old didn’t want to watch another episode. I’ll update once we watch.
Episode 7 review:
Episode 7 is really good and is everything you expect from the series. It’s definitely a must-watch. However, again, you could simply skip all the previous episodes from Season 3 and not miss a beat. I think they could have expanded this episode into at least a two-parter instead of giving us basically nothing from the previous episodes.
Episode 8 review:
We finally watched the final episode of Season 3. It’s another good episode, so I think that makes three out of the eight being worth a watch. That’s not good. Hopefully, they improve with Season 4, which has already been greenlit. The Conquest vs Invincible fight was really cool. They also teased what’s to come. Sadly, nothing about Omni-Man and Allen the Alien, which was odd. We also laughed at Rudy changing his name to Rex and thought that was pretty dumb. They need to ditch the boring, drawn-out stuff and get to the meat of it.
No new episode today, so how about an everything we know about Season 4 so far post? pic.twitter.com/0NLQBSoDYo
