Infinity War Closing In On $2 Billion

Infinity War Closing In On $2 Billion

The Avengers: Infinity War box office is closing in on two billion dollars as the film has now passed the $1.9 billion dollar mark.

The movie has a near whopping $622 million gross in the U.S., with a massive haul of $1.283 billion from foreign audiences.

This Memorial Day holiday also saw the movie take in around $16.5 million for the #3 movie of the weekend.

The Avengers: Infinity War now trails the first The Avengers in the U.S by less than $2 million and trails Black Panther by less than $77 million for the #1 MCU movie.

Infinity War is currently the #4 grossing movie of all time worldwide, and when it hits #2 billion, it will be only the fourth movie to do so (presently trailing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic and Avatar).

Some other stats for Infinity War include that it has the #1 worldwide opening, best single day Saturday and Sunday gross, best opening weekend, best opening weekend in April, top 3-day gross, best PG-13 opening, widest PG-13 opening, fastest to $150 million, $200 million and $250 million.

Up next from Marvel is the highly anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp which looks to answer why the characters didn’t appear in Infinity War (“Why didn’t Ant-Man just shrink and go inside Thanos’ ear and kill him?” fans asked.). Ant-Man and the Wasp gets released July 6.
