Coming out of Comic-Con, it’s being reported the extensive reshoots on the Justice League movie are causing headaches amongst the cast and studio.
Variety reports the Justice League reshoots cost around $25 million and have been taking place both in London and Los Angeles.
It’s noted while it is the norm for big budget movies to do reshoots, it’s said the cost and time allotted on the Justice League reshoots is “raising eyebrows.” The report mentions reshoots typically cost between $6-8 million and last for a couple of weeks.
Regarding the cast, it’s reported Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot aren’t currently busy with out projects, but stars Henry Cavill and Ezra Miller are “scrambling” to get the Justice League movie reshoots done.
It’s said getting Ezra Miller back on Justice League is easier because Ezra Miller is involved with WB’s Fantastic Beasts sequel.
Henry Cavill has been an issue because he has been going back and forth on Justice League and Paramount’s Mission Impossible 6, which sees Cavill sporting a mustache–something Paramount wouldn’t let be removed (Cavill not allowed to shave); so WB must digitally remove Henry Cavill’s mustache in Justice League reshoot scenes involving Superman.
It’s also said Joss Whedon will not be getting a co-director credit on Justice League, which follows WB recently removing the directors credits from their WB UK YouTube post for the Justice League Comic-Con trailer. It’s further said Joss Whedon will not be getting a “fat paycheck,” but may get a screenwriting and producer credit.
Regarding Joss Whedon’s Justice League reshoots, it’s said Whedon is “punch[ing] up the dialogue” and is working on “connective tissue to link sequences.”
Zack Snyder recently stepped down following a family tragedy and chose The Avengers director Joss Whedon to succeed him who is helping out with script rewrites and additional filming.
“Justice League” has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe an Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
