The cast of HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television series continues to grow. HBO announced nine more actors joining the series, which is being promoted as a faithful adaptation of the original book series by J.K. Rowling.

Weasleys, Malfoys, and Dursleys
Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd) has been cast as Molly Weasley. On the Malfoy side, Lox Pratt will play Draco, with Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy.
Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby will take on the roles of Petunia and Vernon Dursley, Harry’s aunt and uncle.
More Students at Hogwarts
Three more Hogwarts students have been added:
- Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan
- Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil
- Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown
These additions round out Harry Potter’s classmates in Gryffindor and beyond.
Ministry of Magic
Bertie Carvel will play Cornelius Fudge, the Minister for Magic, a character who appears throughout the middle of the series.

Previously Announced Cast
Newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will portray Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, respectively.

Veteran actors will support them, including:
- John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore
- Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape
- Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall
- Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid
- Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell (recurring)
- Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch (recurring)
Production Details
Francesca Gardiner is the writer and executive producer of the Harry Potter series. Mark Mylod will direct multiple episodes and executive produce. J.K. Rowling also serves as executive producer alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts for Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
The series will stream on HBO Max in the U.S. and will roll out in additional markets, including Germany, Italy, and the UK. The original Harry Potter films will remain available globally.
