Green Lantern Corps Movie Will Be Complete Re-Imagining

A Green Lantern Corps movie is currently in the works which will feature both Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

Now Geoff Johns sheds new light on the project while appearing at the San Diego Comic-Con offering that it will be a complete re-imagining, which shouldn’t come as a surprise at it will have no ties to the 2011 Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern movie.

Johns is asked what is the biggest thing that he wants to do differently than the first Green Lantern movie aside from it featuring both Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

“There is much more to it than that,” Johns explained to IGN. “But really, it’s a complete re-imagining, just like I did Green Lantern: Rebirth in the comics. I’m going to be hopefully delivering a script that Warner loves and DC likes and they want to make it, that is going to celebrate the mythology and reinvent it in a different way, but also, if you’ve read my Green Lantern run, it’s very much in line with some stuff we did in there.”

Geoff Johns was recently announced to have launched his Mad Ghost Productions company, which confirmed the Green Lantern Corps movie is in the works with: “Once of DC Comics’ greatest Super Hero universes, the film will feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart
