Got into the Warner Bros. panel just in time to see a big scene veering into sizzle reel from #Godzilla: King of the Monsters and it was so impressive and visually beautiful and striking that I kind of want to cry? And I’ve never even been that into Godzilla! #WonderCon #WCA2019

We got a huge (no pun intended) look at Ghidorah’s incredible reveal, followed by Godzilla confronting him, and then an amazing montage. Lots of terrific touches – Mothra flying low overhead has such power it yanks a guy below off the ground and into the air

.@Mike_Dougherty says the goal was to treat these creatures as true gods and the footage really reflects that. Like every person seems so tiny and meek compared to all of them and just witnessing them in action.

Asked if Godzilla is good or evil, @Mike_Dougherty says he’s beyond that morality – he’s a force of nature. But on the other hand, a question worth asking might be how he judges humanity.

Since people are asking on what went down; Vera’s character awakens King Ghidorah, who rises out of the ice like a friggin’ devil!!! G-Team fires off their guns at the Big Dragon — no five. So he blasts their asses with gravity beams.

An Osprey tries to take off, BUT King Ghidorah is right in front of it. Just as it appears that King Ghidorah is gonna crush it; Godzilla shows up, breaking through the ice, and stares down his old nemesis.

The footage ends with Godzilla firing off his atomic breath at Ghidroan, but the dragon dodged it with ease, AND FIRES BACK!!!!!

Kaiju fighting in the snow is something that we’ve been waiting for.

Oh by the way; King Ghidorah rattles like a rattlesnake. Just a tiny detail.

There is one shot during King Ghidorah’s awakening that made him look like he was coming out of a portal to another dimension, with all three heads poking out of it.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters gets released May 31, 2019 starring Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Charles Dance, Kyle Chandler, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Sally Hawkins, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Ziyi Zhang, and Ken Watanabe.
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
