Season 5 about the Upside Down
The main series stars include David Harbour, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton.
On Stranger Things Day in November, the show teased the start of Season 5 with “Darkness” and revealed the first episode will be titled “The Crawl.”
New to the Season 5 cast, and also seen in the image above, includes Terminator‘s Linda Hamilton in an unknown role.
Stranger Things 5 will also be the last and will explain more about the Upside Down which exploded into the real world at the end of Season 4.
“We were like, ‘We know what’s going on in the Upside Down, more or less, but we want it to be unknowable. We want it to be mysterious,’ ” Matt Duffer previously explained to Netflix. “But they were like, ‘Yeah, but can you write it down?’ And so we wrote it all down.
Ross Duffer added, “The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in Season 5 and that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about.”
A spinoff animated series is also in the works.
