Disney is claiming that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier opens as the most-watched series premiere beating out both WandaVision and The Mandalorian.

Disney didn’t release any official numbers but Marvel.com posted an article offering “total global viewership for Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier lands as most-watched series for its Opening Weekend on Disney+.”

The article continues: “Disney+ Original series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier from Marvel Studios ranked as the most-watched series premiere ever on Disney+ during its opening weekend, Friday, March 19 – Sunday, March 22, and the most watched title overall for the same time period on a global basis, including in Disney+ Hotstar markets.”

Again no numbers are released, but what is rather odd is that the trailer views for both The Mandalorian and WandaVision are a lot higher than The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The first trailer for The Mandalorian on the Star Wars YouTube channel has 24 million views from over a year ago; the first trailer for WandaVision has 21 million views, while the first trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has only 14 million.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier missing the buzz

I’ll also add it seemed there wasn’t much buzz surrounding The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on social media, but the Snyder Cut release may have overshadowed things; however, there seemed to be a lot more buzz about WandaVision and especially The Mandalorian from my perspective.

With The Mandalorian trailer having nearly double the views of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier it might not seem as if the numbers add up, but it could be argued Disney Plus has more subscribers now than when The Mandalorian debuted.

It has been claimed that Disney faked the numbers for the Captain Marvel box office so I wouldn’t put it past Disney to announce something like this to promote The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in another attempt to make it look better than it really is.
