Taylor Swift is rumored to be either playing the mutant Dazzler in Deadpool 3 or even herself, which has all the Swifties buzzing about.
While speaking with the Vancouver Sun, producer and star Ryan Reynolds addresses the rumors. Back in October the rumor got a big boost when Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy were spotted at an NFL game with the singer.
“Yeah, I’ve heard that one…I love it (the gossip). I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world. Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26,” he said.
A lot of rumors are false?
Levy also tackled the rumors in October.
“I love the proliferation of casting rumors on the internet, because I never have to say what’s real and what’s fantasy, so I’m just going to go with the very cliche ‘no comment’ on all things casting [with] Deadpool 3,” Levy said while appearing on SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle Show. “I will say, we’re lucky on this one. There’s certainly — is this an answer? A lot of the internet rumors are completely false, but some of them aren’t.”
Taylor Swift playing Dazzler seems to fit, as Dazzler in the comics has the mutant power to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, with the ability allowing Dazzler to create dazzling light displays, as well as using the energy beams for offensive and defensive purposes.
Levy is buds with Swift
Shawn Levy also happened to have worked with Taylor Swift on her All Too Well music video short film that he appeared in along with Sadie Sink, who stars in the Levy-produced Netflix series, Stranger Things.
Deadpool 3 is now back to filming and will be released on July 26, 2024. Also starring in the film includes Emma Corrin as the villain; Leslie Uggams as Blind Al; Morena Baccarin returns as Vanessa; Rob Delaney as Peter; Stefan Kapicic as Colossus; Karan Soni as Dopinder; Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio.
