Warner Bros. Animation has revealed first looks at Super Mutant Magic Academy, Keeping Up With The Joneses, and Living the Dream ahead of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, while DC Studios will also have a presence at the event.
Peter Safran, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of DC Studios, and Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, will attend the festival and host a panel featuring several top animation creatives.
Annecy kicks off next month and will feature new looks at upcoming animated projects from Warner Bros. Animation, DC Studios, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and Netflix.

Super Mutant Magic Academy Gets First Look
Cartoon Network’s Super Mutant Magic Academy is described as an animated comedy melodrama about unusual humans and mutants attending an ailing public boarding school.
The series is based on the acclaimed comic by Jillian Tamaki, which follows students dealing with magic, mutant powers, teen drama, identity, relationships, and the weird problems that come with growing up in a strange boarding school.
The first-look reveal gives Warner Bros. Animation another original animated project to spotlight at Annecy, where global animation studios showcase upcoming films and series.

Keeping Up With The Joneses Heads To Adult Swim
Adult Swim’s Keeping Up With The Joneses will also be featured at Annecy.
The series follows the Newberry family as they try to “keep up” with their extremely wealthy Dallas neighbors.
The setup puts the show in familiar Adult Swim territory, using family comedy, status obsession, and social pressure as the basis for an animated series aimed at adults.

Living The Dream Coming From Netflix
Netflix’s Living the Dream, from George Gendi, is also getting a first look.
The series follows two guys from London who should have made it big by now but haven’t, though they still believe they could.
Gendi is known for creating Apple & Onion, and Living the Dream looks to bring another offbeat animated comedy to Netflix’s growing adult animation slate.

DC Studios And Warner Bros. Animation Set Annecy Panel
Safran and Register will host a panel during Annecy featuring several executive producers tied to upcoming DC animated projects.
The panel lineup includes Tom King of Mister Miracle, Rick Morales of Creature Commandos, Jake Wyatt of My Adventures with Superman and My Adventures with Green Lantern, Josie Campbell of Starfire!, and Matt Beans of DC Super Powers.
The panel points to DC Studios’ growing focus on animation as part of its larger screen strategy under Safran and James Gunn.

Batman: Knightfall Part 1 Screening Also Set
Annecy will also feature a previously announced screening of Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall.
The project adapts the famous Batman comic book storyline that introduced Bane as the villain who breaks Batman.
The screening gives DC another major presence at the festival, alongside the panel and first looks at new animated projects.
Sam Register Talks Animation Push
Register said Annecy remains a major global event for the animation industry.
“Annecy continues to be one of the most important global gatherings for the animation community, celebrating the artistry and innovation that move our industry forward,” Register said. “From expanding the next era of DC animation with our partners at DC Studios to showcasing original voices across our studios, our programming this year reflects the range, ambition, and creative momentum driving everything we do.”

Warner And DC Bring Multiple Projects To Annecy
The Annecy lineup shows Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios using the festival to highlight both franchise titles and original animated shows.
DC will bring Batman, Mister Miracle, Creature Commandos, My Adventures with Superman, My Adventures with Green Lantern, Starfire!, and DC Super Powers to the conversation.
Warner Bros. Animation is also showcasing broader studio projects, including Cartoon Network’s Super Mutant Magic Academy, Adult Swim’s Keeping Up With The Joneses, and Netflix’s Living the Dream.
