DC Entertainment is currently developing its own digital streaming network, which will feature a live-action Titans TV series, Young Justice Season 3, an adult Harley Quinn animated show, a Lex Luthor and Lois Lane Metropolis series, and a Swamp Thing series being developed by Aquaman director James Wan.
Now it’s learned DC Digital will be released some time in late August, as DC Entertainment Community Manager Dani Snow offers new details.
“I do have actually something to plug this time,” Dani Snow told the James Bonding podcast. “So I work at DC Entertainment, and we are about to launch, I think late August, our DC Digital platform, which would be a hub for all things DC. There will be digital movies, TV shows that you can watch, streaming. We are going to have lot of comics on there. There is going to be a lot of good stuff on there.”
Snow also offers where they are currently at with DC Digital, including confirming Swamp Thing will be live-action.
“So right now we are we are working on getting everything from the back-catalog, like the animated TV shows and movies on there now,” she said. “We will also be producing. I think right now we have four original shows in production including Swamp Thing, which a lot of people are really excited about since it’s a horror title. I don’t know if [the voice] has been cast, yet.”
Regarding Swamp Thing, Dani Snow offers it’s the one she is most hearing about from the fans.
“I had no idea the character was as popular. I see people really excited for Swamp Thing. We have a couple of other shows coming up, too, but that’s the one I hear buzz about,” Snow said. “I would say if you are a DC fan, check it out. I’m community manager. I’m hosting on the boards. I will be giving away giveaways, sweepstakes. It should be fun.”
