DC Comics Takes 7 of top 10 For October; Leads With over 50% Market Share

Diamond has released early sales figures for October 2011 with DC Comics coming out on top once again.

The New 52 titles see DC take 7 out of the top 10 — including the first six slots, and led with over 50% of the market share (50.97%).

In addition, the Flashpoint HC took the top spot for Graphic Novels.

The dollar share shows that DC came out on top with 42.47% of retail orders, compared to Marvel’s 29.10%.

October not only saw the inclusion of DC Comics’ New 52 titles second prints, but inclusion of subsequent printings on all their titles as well.

Another plus is that fact that comic sales for October of 2011 saw a hefty gain compared to October 2010 — to the tune of +32.12%. Overall, Oct. 2011 sales were up 25.89% with the dollar sales up 11.93%.

November should be rather interesting as DC will have to battle against the likes of Uncanny X-Men #1, Avenging Spider-Man #1 and Point One #1.

Here is the list for the Top 10 comics and graphic novels. Info via Newsarama. Final numbers should be out soon.
