While Dave Bautista has recently been blasting Disney over the firing of James Gunn, he also lets his thoughts on the latest Star Wars movies become known.
The actor has recently been in London promoting his latest movie, Final Score, where he says he actually tried out twice for Star Wars movies, but was turned down.
“I’ve actually auditioned for a couple of Star Wars [movies] and they’ve turned me down. It was always a dream of mine to be in a Star Wars film,” Dave Bautista said.
Regarding not liking the new Star Wars movies, which is probably safe to include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Han Solo, Bautista offers up he isn’t a big fan.
“I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the latest installments,” said the Drax actor. “I particularly loved Rogue One. I thought it was a really great film, and I love that they went a little bit dark with it. I thought it was really interesting.”
Flickering Myth also offers that Dave Bautista wants to be in a Gears of Wars movie.
Dave Bautista
Regarding Dave Bautista and Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the actor has been vocal on Twitter about Disney having fired James Gunn, which he threatned to quit over.
“Nobody’s defending his tweets, but this was a smear campaign on a good man. I spoke to Chris Pratt the day after it happened and he’s a bit religious so he wanted time to pray and figure it out, but I was more like: f-ck this. This is bullsh-t. James is one of the kindest, most decent people I’ve met,” Bautista said in a previous interview. “Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me. I’d be doing James a disservice if I didn’t.”
Dave Bautista also tweeted: “I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for. GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isn’t GOTG. Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis . That’s just how I feel.”
His latest tweet saw him slam Disney for not rehiring James Gunn: “Thanks Disney!! Making America great again!”
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 seems to be currently up in the air as the search for a new director is currently underway, with various reports offering it might be delayed.
Final Score gets released September 14. Check out the trailer:
