The Dark Knight Rises (2012): Rough Cut Stated To Be 4 Hours Long

[page_title]

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:987:]]Update: MTV has updated their initial article stating the “4 hour” length to be the writer’s exaggeration, and removed the quote.

Last Friday, Christopher Nolan showed off a rough cut version of The Dark Knight Rises to executives at Warner Bros.

While we have not heard anything about a reaction, it is being stated that the movie was four hours long.

Four hours!

MTV apparently got word of the length:

“The Dark Knight Rises” is real and finished, presumably in the form of a four-hour rough cut.

Now, obviously Christopher Nolan still has edits to make, but even if he keeps the movie at around 2.5 or even 3 hours, there would still be a lot of footage deleted. Most of that could be the big fight scene that takes places between Batman and Bane, as over 1000 extras were required. Regardless, they could give us one heck of a director’s cut!

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
