Big news for Marvel’s Daredevil as Marvel Comics has announced a new era for Daredevil as writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Lee Garbett are set to take over the series starting with Daredevil #1 in March 2026.
The relaunch arrives with a fresh direction for Matt Murdock and will be sold in Marvel’s new “True Believer Blind Bags” offering 18 variant covers.
I’ve recently come to know Phillips from her She-Hulk Imperial one-shot. It was okay. I have yet to read the new ongoing. I follow her on TikTok, where she offers some cool insights into the comic business. I also found out she taught at my alma mater and is a Bills fan. She also did martial arts and is a big fan of Warhammer. So she doesn’t seem too bad. Cross your fingers.

A New Direction for Matt Murdock
Via Marvel.com, Phillips and Garbett aim to redefine Daredevil for longtime readers and new fans. Matt Murdock will juggle life as a crime-fighter while stepping into an unexpected role as a law professor. That shift comes just as a new villain, Omen, surfaces with a personal vendetta against Daredevil. Marvel teases a story centered on secrets buried in Hell’s Kitchen that refuse to stay hidden.
Phillips said she’s exploring Daredevil’s noir edge with Garbett, noting that his storytelling adds emotion and style to every page. Garbett echoed the enthusiasm, calling their shared take on the character authentic while still offering new ideas and surprises.
What to Expect From the True Believer Blind Bags
Daredevil #1 becomes the second title to appear in Marvel’s new True Believers Blind Bag program, which begins next month with Ultimate Endgame #1. Each sealed bag contains one copy of the issue with a randomly packed cover, ranging from standard to rare variants and even ultra-rare hand-drawn sketch covers.
Marvel says the Blind Bag line will include exclusive virgin variants, publisher-themed variants, and a batch of surprise covers from undisclosed contributors. Fans can see how it works when Ultimate Endgame #1 hits shelves on December 31.
Creative Team Reactions
Phillips calls Daredevil one of her favorite characters and says the run will lean into the tone that defines the Man Without Fear. Garbett describes the project as a passion collaboration, adding that every story beat feels true to Daredevil’s core while pushing the character into new territory.
