Following Wicked, it’s learned that Cynthia Erivo has her sights set on a Marvel role as she wants to play the X-Men’s Storm in the MCU.
In a recent interview, the actress is asked if there is another dream role she wants to manifest, Cynthia Erivo responds:
I really want to play Storm. I know it sounds frivolous but I think we haven’t uncovered how grand she is and all that inner turmoil that she has. So I think there is a world in which we could, I don’t know, do something like that.

When is Storm and the X-Men coming to the MCU?
Storm recently debuted, of sorts, in the MCU as part of What If…? Season 3. During Episode 7, Captain Peggy Carter leads a team consisting of Kahhori, Byrdie, and a Mjolnir-wielding Storm in stopping multiversal incursions. The Storm is a variant, so apparently she isn’t the official MCU Storm.
Kevin Feige recently said a new age of mutants and the X-Men will follow Avengers: Secret Wars. It’s possible some of the X-Men characters could appear in Secret Wars and then in X-Men related movies.
A recent rumor also said Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink is up to play Jean Grey. We’ve also heard Henry Cavill has had talks with Marvel to continue to play Wolverine.
