Charmed Getting Rebooted At The CW

Charmed Getting Rebooted At The CW

The CW has confirmed they are developing a remake of the popular 1998 series, Charmed, but with a twist.

EW.com reports the reimaginging of Charmed will not be set in the present day, but in the year 1976.

The original Charmed series followed the sister witches in San Francisco played by Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan, which lasted eight seasons.

The remake of Chamed is being written by Jessica O’Toole, Amy Rardin and Jennie Snyder, who all work on The CW’s Jane the Virgin.

Holly Marie Combs, who played Piper, took to Twitter to wish them well.

It’s thought since the remake takes place in the past, that the original actresses won’t be a part of the new Charmed series, but they could always play new characters, or since witchcraft and magic are involved, maybe time travel is possible.

No cast announcements have been made as of yet.

We wish them well.
