Big spoilers follows for Star Wars: Rogue One.

More below.

Today at Star Wars Celebration saw a big spoiler revealed for Star Wars: Rogue One.

Earlier, there were rumors that the script for Star Wars: Rogue One was rewritten due to Disney thinking it too serious of a movie. It was said Star Wars: Rogue One was in worse trouble than originally thought, and that Disney wanted to add more fun to the film. It was further said Disney wasn’t happy with the dark direction of Gareth Edwards, which compared the movie to a  “Dirty Dozen”-like film where the Rebels go on a suicide mission to steal the Death Star plans and don’t make it out alive.

The good news is that with the recent spoiler coming out of Star Wars Celebration, Star Wars: Rogue One seems to have retained that bit of seriousness.

Chinese actor Wen Jiang accidentally let it slip that Donnie Yen’s character dies in the movie. Watch the video below where Jiang explains that following Yen’s character’s death, his character “[does] something better… maybe I believe by my action… he’s thinker, I’m doer.”

Jiang is then cut off by moderator Gwendoline Christie with: “I think you got to leave it there…”

Yen’s character, the warrior monk Chirrut Îmwe, is a member of the Rebels; so from that, we can further speculate that other members of the Rebels will die as well.

“Star Wars: Rogue One” has a December 16, 2016 release directed by Gareth Edwards starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character in Rogue One, and Riz Ahmed.

Synopsis:

Rogue One tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star.
