Trending worldwide earlier on Twitter was the hashtag: #RenewYoungJustice.
Young Justice writer and creator Greg Weisman and fans around the globe tweeted out support to bring back the Young Justice series that Cartoon Network cancelled rather abruptly in the Spring of 2013.
The retweets for support quickly numbered over 32,000 in just a couple of hours.
Weisman’s Twitter account is currently lit up with overwhelming support for bringing back the fan-favorite series.
“I hope the fandoms effort will bring the show back, it’s an amazing show!” one fan tweeted out enthusiastically.
“I had literal tears running down my cheeks,” another fan tweeted about the #RenewYoungJustice hashtag picking up steam. “Talk about intense.”
Likewise, Weisman responded to a fan’s question if he sees himself working on Young Justice in the future with: “I hope so.”
Weisman even provided the address that fans could write Cartoon Network to show their support, noting it should be a polite letter:
Cartoon Network
300 N 3rd St.
Burbank, CA 91502
Specific reasons why Young Justice was cancelled aren’t exactly known, but DC animated Paul Dini’s told Kevin Smith that network executives didn’t want girls watching the series.
“@DC_Animated: How about sending a letter to Cartoon Network 300 N 3rd St. Burbank, CA 91502 #RenewYoungJustice” A polite letter, please.
