Christopher Nolan Back With Universal and Matt Damon On New Movie

Christopher Nolan is reteaming with Universal Pictures on a new movie along with Matt Damon.

Per the norm when it comes to Nolan movies, the details are slim. However, it’s being reported that Matt Damon will star, with Nolan also writing and producing alongside his wife, Emma Thomas, under their Syncopy banner.

Damon recently appeared in Nolan’s Oppenheimer and had a role in Interstellar. Damon is now only one of three actors to have worked with Nolan on at least three occasions, joining the likes of Christian Bale in the Batman movies and Cillian Murphy who appeared in the Batman films and Oppenheimer.

The flick also has a a release date and will be released in IMAX on  July 17, 2026. Filming is expected to begin in early 2025.

The release date doesn’t have any competition but a week prior is Disney and Dwayne Johnson’s live-action Moana movie. An untitled Marvel film was supposed to be released a week after on July 24, 2026, but Disney recently removed it from the release schedule.

Oppenheimer brought in $975.5 million worldwide. Nolan also won his first Oscars for Best Director and as a producer for Best Picture, in addition to five more Oscars including Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.
