Chloe Grace Moretz will star in the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid film from Universal Studios.
Itās also reportedĀ Richard Curtis is in talks to write the script, which is based on the the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale centering on a mermaid who gives up her life in the sea after she falls in love with a prince (via THR).
No director is attached asĀ Sofia Coppola is said to have recently left the project due to creative differences with the studio.
Hans Christian Andersenās The Little Mermaid has been adapted numerous times with most notably the 1989 Disney animated feature (Disney is not associated with this film).

Chloe Moretz is known for playing Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass, role in The Equalizer, the upcoming sci-fi movie The 5th Wave,Ā and Neighbors 2.
