New details have emerged about Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
FBI officials confirm Robinson lived with a transgender partner who is now cooperating with investigators.

FBI Confirms Relationship
According to senior-level FBI officials speaking to Fox News, Robinson shared an apartment in Saint George, Utah, with an unnamed partner described as a male transitioning to a female. Officials said the two were in a “romantic relationship” and that the partner is fully cooperating with the investigation.
One FBI official told Fox News the individual has been “extremely cooperative” and “had no idea” Robinson was planning to assassinate Kirk. The partner is not accused of any criminal activity.

How the FBI Zeroed In
Sources told Fox News that the FBI recovered text messages and other communications between Robinson and his partner that helped agents identify him as the shooter. Evidence, including computers, has been seized from the apartment and sent to Quantico for further review.
FBI Director Kash Patel ordered surveillance images of the suspect to be made public during the 33-hour manhunt. Robinson’s father, a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, recognized him in the footage and ultimately turned him in after speaking with a minister.

Evidence and Ammunition
Investigators also confirmed Robinson used a bolt-action rifle in the attack. Utah Governor Spencer Cox said ammunition recovered with the rifle was inscribed with anti-fascist messaging. One used casing and three unused casings contained the engravings, thought to reference the Helldivers 2 video game.

Tyler Robinson was a leftist not a ‘groyper’
In the immediate aftermath of the assassination, several media outlets attempted to link Tyler Robinson to the conservative “groypers” movement, portraying him as aligned with far-right ideology.
However, The Wall Street Journal via the NY Post has since reported that Robinson was actually “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology,” contradicting those earlier claims.

The Daily Mail was the first outlet to publish comments from one of Robinson’s former high school friends, who said Robinson was “pretty left on everything” and “the only member of his family that was really leftist.” But those comments were later removed from the article, coinciding with the spread of the “groypers” narrative in other outlets.

The Assassination
Charlie Kirk, 31, founder of Turning Point USA, was killed Wednesday while speaking to a crowd at Utah Valley University in Orem. He was answering an audience question about transgender mass shooters when a single shot, fired from a rooftop some 200 yards away, struck him in the neck.
Kirk, a married father of two, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. President Donald Trump confirmed his death shortly after and has since announced Kirk will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
