WWE Superstar Seth Rollins reveals his character and role have been cut from Captain America: Brave New World and confirms reshoots and rewrites for the movie.
What did Seth Rollins say?
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Rollins confirmed his role has been cut but wishes Marvel and the movie the best:
“It releases in February. I wish it the best, but I am not a part of that film. [What happened?] Well, does my NDA still apply if I’m not in the film anymore? Truth be told, any answer I gave would only be my opinion on it. The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots so what I was there to do, essentially my role got either repurposed or completely erased.”
“So I did do a bit of an audition to possibly pop into another role, I believe, or the repurposing of my role, I’m not exactly sure on what it was, but they ended up going in a different direction with it. And yeah my understanding was there were just a lot of rewrites and a lot of reshoots, and they know they’ve got a finished product that hopefully they’re happy with, and hopefully it’s successful, but it will be sans Seth Rollins.”

What role did Seth Rollins play?
Thanks to early set pics, it was revealed that Seth Rollins apparently played a member of the Serpent Society. According to scoopers, the Serpent Society scene was supposed to be the first major action piece that featured Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, and Carl Lumbly as Isiah Bradley. However, it has been said the action scenes were a major problem and were a big reason for the reshoots, so apparently, with the reshoots out went the Serpent Society and Seth Rollins. Rosa Salazar’s Diamondback is still said to be in the finished cut of the film.
Back in October, Rollins spoke about having a role in the film and was looking forward to be a part of the MCU:
“It was a really good experience and I think it’s going to be pretty cool. I think our audience is going to love it. I think their audience is going to love it, so it was a cool crossover to be able to jump into some totally different skin and try a new thing out for me.”
What did the Captain America: Brave New World reshoots add?
A big addition the reshoots for Captain America: Brave New World are said to have added and fixed is better action scenes which are more in line with the previous Captain America movies.
It has also been said Marvel Studios added a villain, which is Sidewinder, played by Giancarlo Esposito.
According to Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, Captain America: Brave New World has undergone at least four reshoots. Scoopers have also said the budget has ballooned out of control, and that director Julius Onah didn’t finish the film. Recently also saw the news that the producer behind the flick is exiting Marvel.
Captain America: Brave New World gets released on Feb. 14, 2025 also starring Harrison Ford.
