Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World has finally hit $400 million at the worldwide box office, bringing in $4.1 million domestically over the weekend. However, the film still ranks near the bottom of MCU box office totals.
With all the rewrites and reshoots, the budget is believed to be closer to $250 million or more, meaning Captain America: Brave New World has bombed pretty hard. While the break-even point has been reported as $425 million, it’s likely that the real number is a lot higher.
What is the Captain America: Brave New World box office?
The domestic box office is currently at $192,117,391. The international box office is at $208,700,000. The worldwide box office is at $400,817,391.
Grosses
- Domestic (47.9%): $192,117,391
- International (52.1%): $208,700,000
- Worldwide: $400,817,391

Brave New World lags in MCU Rankings
The $4.1M actually isn’t a bad number for weekend #6. Quantumania, in its sixth weekend, only brought in $2.4M. There haven’t been too many good movies to watch at theaters as of late. Disney’s Snow White is also bombing, so really, the best movie to see at theaters right now happens to be Captain America: Brave New World—which, if nothing else, is at least a fun film.
That said, Captain America: Brave New World still ranks near the bottom of MCU grosses (see list below). With inflation factored in, it’s currently the fourth-worst-performing MCU movie, ahead of only Black Widow, Eternals, and The Marvels. Without inflation, it lands at #28 out of 33.
Worldwide, adjusted for inflation, Brave New World remains the fourth-worst-performing MCU flick, alongside Black Widow, The Incredible Hulk, and The Marvels. Without inflation, it’s the fifth worst. For what it’s worth, Captain America: Brave New World is expected to pass Eternals ($401.7M) this week.

What’s next
Anthony Mackie is expected to continue playing Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday. Chris Evans is rumored to return, though whether he’ll reprise his role as Cap or play a new character remains unclear. Hayley Atwell is also said to be coming back, suggesting Evans and Atwell could return as their characters from the past as seen in Avengers: Endgame. Robert Downey Jr. is set to return as a new character—Doctor Doom. Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on May 1, 2026, and the Russos recently hinted the film will reboot the MCU.
