Brie Larson Is Magnificent As Captain Marvel Says Jude Law

With Ant-Man and the Wasp having been released, fans are now turning their attention to the next MCU movie, Captain Marvel, which precedes the highly antcipated conclusion to The Avengers: Infinity War with the untitled Avengers 4 movie.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.  Set in the 1990s, the film is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This past Comic-Con saw Mar-vell actor Jude Law appear for Fantastic Beasts 2 where he offered Brie Larson is magnifecent as Captain Marvel.

“Yes, it’s been reported I’m playing Mar-Vell,” Law said (via EW). “I’m not going to confirm or deny that. It’s been a very interesting experience. Brie Larson has approached it with incredible dedication and devotion. She really turned out a wonderfulperformance — fun and feisty and smart. I think she’s going to be absolutely magnificent.”

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also offered that Captain Marvel is their most powerful character to date.

“It’s very important to us that all of our heroes do not become silhouette-perfect cutout icons,” Feige said. “All of the Marvel characters have flaws to them, all of them have a deep humanity to them. With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie. Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had. It’s important, then, to counterbalance that with someone who feels real. She needs to have a humanity to tap into, and Brie can do that.” 

Captain Marvel has a  March 8, 2019 release directed by the writing/directing team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and stars Academy Award winner Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
