Black Mirror returns to Netflix on April 10 with six new episodes. Series creator Charlie Brooker says the new season goes “back to basics” with all stories rooted in sci-fi. Expect some twisted moments, emotional turns, and even a sequel to a fan-favorite episode.
A Sequel to “USS Callister”
For the first time in Black Mirror history, an episode will continue a previous story. Brooker confirms that Season 7 includes a sequel to “USS Callister,” the dark satire from Season 4 that explored power and control in a simulated reality. The original cast returns for this new chapter.

What Brooker Says About Season 7
Brooker describes the season as “a little bit OG Black Mirror.” All six episodes lean into sci-fi themes, with a range of tones: some disturbing, some funny, and some emotional. Two episodes will run at feature length. He also notes that while there are dark elements, they’re not all presented like a horror movie.
“It’s back to basics in many ways,” Booker told Netflix’s Tudum. “They’re all sci-fi stories — there’s definitely some horrifying things that occur, but maybe not in an overt horror-movie way. There’s definitely some disturbing content in it.”
