'Black Adam' Leak Reveals Villain Details

Details about the Black Adam villain Dwayne Johnson will be battling become known thanks to a merchandise leak.

Note: Spoilers follow for the movie.

A “Data File” from a toy reveals the Black Adam villain, Sabbac, has the real name of Ishmael Gregor, with the description as follows:

Possessed by a demon, a military Intergang leader transforms into Sabbac, the only being whose powers are equal to those of Black Adam. Determined to take over Kahndaq and maybe the whole world, Sabbac must be stopped, and the fiercely autonomous Black Adam may need the help of some unlikely allies to outmatch him.

Worth a mention is that the description mentions Intergang who in the comics is armed with technology supplied by the villainous New Gods of the planet Apokolips from which Darkseid is from, and they also happen to be a big villain group associated with Superman, so maybe some sort of Apokolips or Metropolis or even Superman reference (cross your fingers for an appearance) will be mentioned in the film.

Marwan Kenzari (Aladdin) is playing Sabbac who in comics has been described as the “dark opposite” of the Shazam family with the most recent version said to be the physical manifestation of the Seven Deadly Sins of Man.

Promo art reveals a first look. See below.

Black Adam gets released on October 21 directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) and also stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate.

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
