Itâs being said that the Birds of Prey movie is currently undergoing massive reshoots with the situation being compared to that of the Disney Star Wars movie, Rogue One.
A quick note regarding Rogue One, Disney brought in Oscar-nominated writer Tony Gilroy to do emergency reshoots on the flick as they were unsatisfied by director Gareth Edwardsâ version of the movie. It is reported that Gilroy ended up taking a leading role in postproduction and oversaw reshoots to fix things, including the filmâs ending, to the tune of millions of dollars (more at THR).
Regarding Birds of Prey, earlier it was reported that the storyline involved a flamboyantly gay Black Mask (played by Ewan McGregor) trying to capture and murder the teenage Cassandra Cain, played by Korean/Filipino actress Ella Jay Basco, who swallowed his dâk pics inside a diamond. So the plot involved Cassandra Cain on the run as Black Mask wanted his dâk pics back, with Margot Robbieâs Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winsteadâs Huntress and Jurnee Smollett-Bellâs Black Canary trying to help and save her.Â

Birds Of Prey story being altered
The good news is that now it is being said that Birds of Prey is undergoing massive reshoots to remove that weird pedophilia storyline in addition to claims it ripped off Deadpool.
Interestingly enough, it has been reported Chad Stahelski, who did the stunts for Deadpool 2, is overseeing the reshoots, but previously it was just thought for action sequences, as his stunt company has been involved with the movie from the start.
So if this information is legit, it sounds like Stahelski is involved in reshooting and adding more than just action scenes and that WB isnât happy with director Cathy Yan.
The news of the change to the Birds of Prey storyline also follows billionaire Jeffrey Epstein committing suicide over being charged with pedophilia.

I think a kid swallowing a diamond is pretty lame â plus I heard of some other stuff in the movie which is a direct ripoff of Deadpool.

Itâs the whole main plot, getting the diamond that Cassandra Cain swallows â even if the âtwistâ of that diamond containing d*ck pics isnât revealed until the end. Then thereâs McGregor doing a camp Black Mask instead of a gay villain thatâs cool and can be taken seriously.
