First Look At Ruby Rose As Batwoman

The CW releases a first look at Ruby Rose as Batwoman for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover involving Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl, which has been titled “Elseworlds.”

The crossover starts filming October 29 and kicks off in December.

The Batwoman costume below, which looks pretty much straight out of the comics, was created by costume designer Colleen Atwood.

Batwoman Kate Kane is described as: Armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet—in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

It’s also been said a potential Batwoman TV series could be developed.

“I’m so thrilled,” Ruby Rose previously told Jimmy Fallon. “I get to be Batwoman. I feel like the reason I kept getting emotional is because growing up watching TV, I never saw anyone on TV I could identify with, let alone a superhero.”

The Monitor will also be a part of the crossover, described as “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power,” played by LaMonica Garret.

The three-night Arrowverse crossover airs Sunday, Dec. 9 with The Flash followed by Monday, Dec. 10 with Arrow, and concludes Tuesday, Dec. 11 with Supergirl.
