Michael Keaton Says ‘Never Say Never’ To Batman Return

Summary

  • -Michael Keaton is open to possibly returning as Batman
  • Keaton has not seen the Batgirl movie but admits to having seen parts of it
  • There are currently two other Batman projects in development, one from Matt Reeves and the other from James Gunn

The talk of Batman has again turned to Michael Keaton who says “never say never” about again returning to playing DC’s Dark Knight.

As I went over, there were big plans for a massive DC Multiverse involving Michael Keaton sticking around as Batman following The Flash, which included the Batgirl movie and involved Batman Beyond.

Well, everything changed when David Zaslav took over, but in a new interview, Keaton was asked if he could still come back.

“Everything depends on something else”

In addition to that surprise Batman appearance at the Oscars with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, Keaton appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and the topic of DC’s Caped Crusader came up.

Josh Horowitz mentions it was a treat to see him pop up again as Batman in The Flash and that he’s more than a little sad we won’t get to see Batgirl and asked Keaton if he has seen the film.

“No,” Keaton answered, but said he saw “parts of it, I think. It was a done deal…”

Keaton went on to mention another canceled project at WB, with Will Forte’s Coyote vs. Acme, which is getting big headlines, as while originally canceled, it was going to be shopped around, but since nobody has picked it up, so it’s said to be canceled once again. Horowitz then questioned, if he thinks his time as Batman is officially done.

“I don’t think about it much,” Keaton answered. “Never say never. Everything depends on something else, I guess.”
