As if we needed more proof that Kang Dynasty has been dropped from The Avengers 5, in a report about its succesful IP’s, Disney doesn’t make mention of “The Kang Dynasty.”
It has been thought Marvel is moving away from Kang the Conqueror in the MCU and “Kang Dynasty” as part of The Avengers 5 title due to the big failure of Quantumania as well as the legal troubles surrounding Jonathan Majors.
Various rumors from scoopers and reports from the trades have said Marvel is moving away from Kang and that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be getting a new title to remove the character’s name.
Disney “powerful” IPs include “Avengers 5”
Now in an official Disney document, the company simply refers to the film as “Avengers 5” and no longer as “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
It’s also been reported the film has lost its writer, the same writer on Quantumania, and it has been reported director Destin Daniel Cretton dropped out of directing.
Kevin Feige has yet to make an official announcement or update, but you can see how in highlighting its “poweful” IPs, Disney only refers to the fifth Avengers movie as “Avengers 5.”
Worth a mention is that Disney also omits the entirety of the MCU’s Phase 4 and Phase 5 as well as all the MCU Disney+ shows.
What happens to Avengers 5?
Regarding what is going to happen with Avengers 5, there is speculation that instead of “Kang Dynasty” it may become an “Avengers: Secret Wars – Part 1,” with Secret Wars that gets released in 2027, “Part 2.”
We might get an official announcement either this Summer at Comic-Con or a month later at the D23 Expo in August.
The Avengers 5 has a May 1, 2026 release date, with Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
