Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Aquaman trailer as the movie is almost six months away and promotion has yet to begin.
The reason the Aquaman trailer hasn’t been released is because the footage hasn’t been ready.
Back in March saw James Wan offer he is the reason: “Hey friends, I usually do my best to avoid internet noises (especially fabricated distractions) but a teaser-trailer going out this weekend was never in the books — despite what some claim. It’s not because of anyone or any nefarious reason holding it back — IT’S ME,” he tweeted. “I am simply not ready yet to share. This movie is filled to the gills with VFX, and the process is as slow and laborious as a sea-slug! Yes, even shots for the trailers take forever to do, and I refuse to put out anything that might be construed as subpar.”
While the Aquaman trailer hasn’t been released, footage and test screenings have been shown to select audiences, which offers that the movie is “epic.”
A fan who seen a test screening said it was good: “Surprisingly yes! Like [Wonder Woman] and Ant-Man mixed together but a bit more epic.”
Black Manta has also said to be really good in the movie, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, as footage screened at the recent Licensing Expo and CinemaCon, with the character also described as “epic.” According to descriptions, Black Manta looks straight out of the comics.
It’s possible the Aquaman trailer could be released next month during Comic-Con.
Aquaman has a December 21, 2018 release starring Jason Momoa as the titular character, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm the Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, with Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman is playing Queen Atlanna, and Dolph Ludgren is King Nereus.
