After nearly being separated for two years, it’s learned actress Lisa Bonet, 56, has filed for divorce to dissolve her marriage to actor Jason Momoa, 44, who is known for playing Aquaman.
The divorce proceedings were confirmed by documents filed in Los Angeles County court on Monday and arrived nearly two years after the couple publicly announced their separation. Jason Momo was also said to have been dating Eiza Gonzalez back in 2022.
Citing irreconcilable differences, the petition outlines a mutual agreement between the two stars on financial matters, with neither party seeking financial support. Details within the filing disclose plans for the equitable division of their assets and propose joint custody of their 16-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son.
Jason Momoa, celebrated for his roles in the Aquaman film series and Game of Thrones, shared a notable romantic journey with Bonet, known for her roles in The Cosby Show, its spinoff A Different World, and acclaimed films like High Fidelity and Enemy of the State.
Momoa has Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom currently in theaters which has now made over $336 million and is expected to continue in James Gunn’s new DCU as Lobo.
Their relationship commenced in 2005, but legal formalities for marriage were fulfilled in 2017, a union that now faces dissolution with the divorce documents specifying their separation as of October 2020, a period preceding their public announcement. Pending judicial review, their divorce is anticipated to be finalized at a minimum six months from the filing date.
While this marked the inaugural marriage for Momoa, Bonet had previously been married to musician Lenny Kravitz, with whom she shares another daughter, actor Zoë Kravitz.
