Yesterday saw it reported that Aquaman will be filming in Australia and that Michael Kenneth Williams is attached to the project.
It was then speculated online that Michael Kenneth Williams would be playing Black Manta.
A fan on Twitter asked Aquaman director James Wan if Michael Kenneth Williams will be playing Black Manta, in which Wan said no.
“Nah, not real,” James Wan replied.
It should be noted the original article on Australia’s Telegraph didn’t state Michael Kenneth Williams was playing Black Manta, just that: “Willem Dafoe and Michael Kenneth Williams are also attached to the project, that is expected to begin filming in the new year.”
It could be possible that Michael Kenneth Williams may be playing a different charcter in Aquaman.
Aquaman has a July 27, 2018 release starring Jason Momoa as the King of the Seven Seas and Amber Heard as Mera.
