‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Reveals MODOK Design

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Reveals MODOK Design

Thanks to what looks like official merchandise for the movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania reveals the design of M.O.D.O.K.

Back in July at the San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel confirmed the villain with the release of the first Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania footage.

The footage featured a look at Bill Murray’s character, in addition to Kang the Conqueror played by Jonathan Majors, and a short look at MODOK, but the footage didn’t go so far as to reveal who is playing the character (theories offer Corey Stoll’s Darren Cross/Yellowjacket).

A Twitter user tweeted the following t-shirt, which according to those who saw the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania footage, matches up with the design.

Fan theory

In the comics, M.O.D.O.K. stands for ” Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing” and tends to look a bit more humanoid in the face, but as we see with the t-shirt, M.O.D.O.K. looks to be wearing a helmet, which would fit with the theory that M.O.D.O.K. in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania could be Yellowjacket or even another character that travels the Quantum Realm.

Recall at the end of the first Ant-Man movie, Yellowjacket shrunk down to what appeared to be a sub-atomic level while battling Scott Lang, so maybe that is why Yellowjacket now becomes MODOK in the MCU.

Worth a mention is the t-shirt design above is also yellow.

Following Comic-Con, as part of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel described Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumnia as: The World’s Greatest Grandma (that’s Scott Lang) and the rest of the Ant-fam meets their greatest foe yet: Kang.

Andy Park illustrated the above poster and noted recently on Instagram, “This movie is gonna be nuts!!!”

The film arrives in theaters on February 17, 2023 also starring Evangeline Lilly and Kathryn Newton.
