While the first film following The Avengers: Infinity War opened for most of us early last month, Ant-Man and the Wasp only just opened in China, and it opened big!
The film raked in $68 million to start in China, giving it the fourth best opening for an MCU film, and the third highest of the year in China for a Hollywood movie as well.
Adding in other international territories, the film actually brought in $71.2 million for the weekend, which is presently outperforming the first movie’s foreign gross by 35%.
The flick is also blowing by the first movie in China, as the sequel is 66% ahead; Ant-Man and the Wasp also sports the best IMAX opening with $7.2 million in China.

I felt Ant-Man 2 was a really good movie and a lot of fun. Plus, what goes down might have something to do with the Avengers 4 next May.
While Marvel hasn’t officially announced a third movie in the franchise, there is at least talk about it.
