Andrew Garfield denies that he has been cast in Spider-Man 4. Of course, as the actor notes, that might not mean much as Garfield also denied he was a part of No Way Home.
Hasn’t signed up for Spider-Man 4
GQ recently interviewed the actor where Garfield said he is entering the next phase of his career and will be doing “less and less”:
So he’s being more selective. No, he hasn’t already signed up for Spider-Man 4, as many reports have already suggested. “I’m gonna disappoint you,” he says. “Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on,” referring to that time when he had to deny in several interviews that he was in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Garfield does say he would do another big franchise if it was the right thing to do:
“If it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun. Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something.”
Rumored for a return
Rumors have offered that Kevin Feige wants to go with another big Multiverse movie for Spider-Man 4. At the same time, it’s claimed that the fourth film might be brought back down to earth and will reportedly go a more street-level route. Recent rumors have said Feige is actually butting heads with Tom Holland over the Spider-Man 4 script. It’s claimed the script is being completely rewritten which might see a year delay.
As it stands now, Spider-Man 4 is slated to be released on July 26, 2026.
Following the big success of No Way Home, where Garfield arguably stole the show, there were rumors he was returning for more Spider-Man. Garfield actually teased a Spider-Man return when questioned back in October, seemingly confirming there have been discussions.
If not Spider-Man 4, maybe Andrew Garfield will return in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars.
