Amazon Censors James Bond Posters, Removes Guns From 007’s Hands

Amazon is catching backlash again from 007 fans—this time for quietly editing classic James Bond movie posters on Prime Video and removing Bond’s guns.

Posters Sanitized

As shared by the SpyHards account on X, updated poster artwork for nearly every Bond film now omits Bond holding a gun.

This includes posters for classics like Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, and Skyfall, among others. The guns have simply been Photoshopped out (or through the use of AI).

“Welcome to a world where promoting James Bond 007 needs to be done without his sidearm,” one fan wrote in response.

The changes appear to be exclusive to the movie listings on Amazon Prime Video and do not match the original theatrical or Blu-ray releases that are listed on Amazon Marketplace.

Fans Cry Foul Over Woke Influence

The edit has reignited concerns among longtime fans that Amazon’s ownership of the Bond franchise may lead to a “woke” overhaul of the character.

Many see this as another attempt to sanitize the iconic spy for modern sensitivities, especially as guns have always been part of Bond’s persona going back to 1962’s Dr. No.

This follows a previous report that Amazon floated the idea of a female 007 and a Marvel-style cinematic universe with spin-offs.

While longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli reportedly shut those plans down, it’s unclear if her influence remains—especially after recent reports suggested Jeff Bezos had her removed from creative control.

However, recent reports have said Bond will be played by a younger male British actor, but that doesn’t leave out the possibility of a race swap.
