Tom Holland’s Dad Clears Up Spider-Man 4 Injury Reports

Tom Holland’s Dad Clears Up Spider-Man 4 Injury Reports

Tom Holland’s father, comedian Dominic Holland, has set the record straight about his son’s recent accident while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, dismissing exaggerated reports about a “horrendous injury” and ambulance drama.

What Really Happened

Writing on The Brothers Trust website, Dominic Holland clarified that while Tom did suffer a mild concussion, most of the viral tabloid stories got it wrong.

“Reading the stories in the media of Tom’s ‘horrendous injury’ brought to mind the adage that one should never believe what is written in the newspapers,” he wrote.

He added, “There was no ambulance, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day is not being filmed at Leavesden Studio. Perhaps this mystery ambulance driver had a concussion also.”

Dominic said Tom hit his head at work and went to the hospital “as a precaution,” spending the night at what he described as a “posh hospital.” The next morning, Tom still made it to The Brothers Trust Posh Pub Quiz event on time, though he left early after feeling unwell.

The Real Story From the Event

According to Dominic, Tom began hosting the charity quiz but started feeling worse after two rounds and went backstage, where he became sick from the lights and noise — common symptoms of concussion.

“Keep in mind that with concussion, two things to avoid are bright lights and excessive noise… In other words, do not host a gala quiz,” he explained.

A doctor in attendance advised Tom to go home immediately. Zendaya stayed to support the charity, while Dominic stepped in to finish hosting the night.

A Successful Fundraiser

Despite the unexpected twist, Dominic said the event was still a success, raising money for multiple charities. He praised the audience for being supportive and joked about taking over as host:

“People had paid top dollar for Tom Holland and instead would be getting a pub comic with a blog. But she needn’t have worried. Even in Tom’s unfortunate absence, the evening was a roaring success,” he said.
