Alien: Earth Renewed for Season 2

FX is sticking with Alien: Earth.

Variety reports the series has officially been renewed for Season 2, with creator Noah Hawley also signing a huge new overall deal with FX and Disney Entertainment Television. The site says the deal lands in the nine-figure range, keeping Hawley locked in as one of Disney’s top TV creatives.

Season 2 heads into production in London in 2026. The first season was shot in Thailand before debuting in August. FX chairman John Landgraf praised Hawley’s work, saying the network is ready to push ahead with the next chapter.

Hawley Expands His Disney Footprint

Hawley called the expanded deal an opportunity to push new ideas across Disney’s TV division. He credited FX for backing his approach since Fargo, saying the network encouraged him to take creative risks. Hawley also confirmed he plans to continue exploring the world of Alien: Earth as Season 2 takes shape.

Disney Television Studios president Eric Schrier added that Hawley remains one of the most distinctive creators working in TV and that the studio is excited to broaden his work beyond FX.

Cast and Season 1 Setup

Season 1 starred Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.

The first season followed a young woman played by Sydney Chandler and a group of soldiers who uncover a threat tied to a mysterious vessel crash-landing on Earth—the kind of discovery that fits perfectly inside the classic Alien franchise DNA.

Hawley’s FX Legacy

Hawley first arrived at FX with Fargo in 2014 and went on to deliver five seasons, winning multiple Emmys and Golden Globes. His work on the FX-Marvel series Legion also cemented his reputation as a creator with a style fans instantly recognize. Alien: Earth is the latest extension of his long partnership with FX, and it now sits alongside new projects Disney already has in development with him.
