The Acolyte: Manny Jacinto Confirms Cancellation: Simu Liu Reacts

To all the shills stating that Disney never officially announced the cancellation of The Acolyte, well, here you have it: Manny Jacinto has confirmed the cancellation of The Acolyte following the announcement by all the trades.

The actor who played The Stranger, the villain of the series, posted on social media following the news.

That’s not all as Marvel actor Simu Liu has also reacted to the news of the cancellation of The Acolyte, whose own MCU future has been questioned.

On Thursday, Manny Jacinto posted an image of his character and Amandla Stenberg’s Osha seemingly hinting at what could have been.

The end of the series implied the two are in some sort of relationship which would be explored in The Acolyte Season 2. The season finale ended on a cliffhanger with Darth Plagueis looking on and with Yoda seemingly being told about a new threat.

However, The Acolyte Season 2 isn’t happening, which is thought to be due to the high expense of the series and the low viewership. The Acolyte has the lowest viewership of the Star Wars shows on Disney+. The season finale is also the least-watched season finale for a Star Wars series on Disney+.

Amandla Stenberg, who released that rage-twerking video during the season, has yet to comment.

Marvel star Simu Liu reacted in the comments on Jacinto’s post with a heart emoji: “justice for manny!! bro you were so effing good in this show and the dedication was so apparent. bigger and brighter things ahead. rooting for you always.”

Regarding Simu Liu’s own questionable future with the MCU, a recent report claims Simu Liu was supposed to headline Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

However, Kang Dynasty has been scrapped in favor of Avengers: Doomsday starring Robert Downey Jr. Shang-Chi 2 hasn’t also been officially announced by Marvel, which was released three years ago.
