Vincent D’Onofrio is done with social media and Twitter following the controversy surrounding Daredevil: Born Again which has seen the writers and directors fired and a reboot said to be happening.
“So everyone I’m going to leave X. I’m going to leave very soon,” he said in a now-deleted tweet due to the account being canceled. “To my amazing and loyal followers: You know I have been contemplating this for a long while. Today is the day. I leave you for now with much love to you all.”
D’Onofrio added, “Don’t think I’m going to be spending any time on any platform. Feeling like leaving Instagram today as well. I’ll come back soon or maybe later. I don’t know. Maybe with a brand new account.”
Vincent D’Onofrio has since made his Instagram account private.
Vincent D’Onofrio responded to fans about Daredevil: Born Again reboot
The news follows Vincent D’Onofrio, who is usually active on social media with fans, responding to fans on Twitter following news of the reboot.
The Kingpin actor responded to a fan who brought up one of D’Onofrio’s tweets from back in April when Daredevil: Born Again was filming.
“Well now this aged poorly,” said the fan.
The April tweet from D’Onofrio stated: “So very excited about Daredevil: Born Again. Such an incredible cast and crew. Just finished a big scene yesterday and it was so intense and wonderful working with two of the other cast members. Wow. We all have a lot to look forward to. We meaning, you too.”
Vincent D’Onofrio responded to the comment about “this aged poorly.”
“Unless you really know what’s going there’s a chance you could be wrong about this statement. We are going to bring forward the best series we can. One we can be proud of. Have some trust my friend, trust,” tweeted Vincent D’Onofrio.
The fan replied, “You’re right, I don’t. I’m just going off reports/my personal feelings about this weird new era of television.”
D’Onofrio added, “Every cool project I’ve been involved with has evolved constantly during pre- production, production and post. It’s just reported on these days as if it’s big news. It’s not. It’s simple a bunch of creatives doing their best to get it right. It’s a constant in this business. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Frankly I’d be worried if we were settling for less.”
Why is Daredevil: Born Again getting rebooted?
I was actually the first to report that Daredevil: Born Again is getting retooled.
Insiders at Comic-Con filled me in that Marvel is a big mess and that Kevin Feige was set to retool the series after the strikes and bring it more in line with the mature and popular Netflix series instead of going to childish and silly route like seen in She-Hulk.
So following the actors strike ending, the Hollywood Trades confirmed exactly what I said with the added news that Feige fired the writers and directors and that Feige is looking for new ones.
It has also been reported that Marvel Studios is now going in a new direction and overhauling how it approaches its television projects on Disney+, especially with the big failure of Secret Invasion.
Plot details have since come out about the canceled plans for Daredevil: Born Again.
