A new batch of Deadpool 3 leaks or rumors is causing worry on the internet, but at least some good news comes in that the flick is still on track for its new release date.
Marvel Studios recently moved the Deadpool 3 release date up by six months – from Nov. 8, 2024 to May 3, 2024 – and Deadline confirms “Deadpool 3 will kick off summer next year during the first weekend of May,” so even though the writers strike is going on and there is an impending SAG strike, the movie looks to be finishing production soon.
Regarding the leaks, a bunch of potential details have hit the net which fans don’t think is too promising.
Before we dive in, worth a mention is that Deadpool 3 has Ryan Reynolds back as producer with the original writers from the first two movies also returning, so that at least is promising.
However, this is the present-day MCU we are talking about here, which has been a disaster since the release of Captain Marvel. Recall that originally, Kevin Feige put a bunch of newb comedy writers on Deadpool 3 (which didn’t work out at all for Phase 4 and Quantumania), but it seems Reynolds replaced them and got his OG writers back.
On Friday, a tweet went viral on Twitter with 1.6 million views, which is pretty huge for Twitter, especially coming from an account with not a lot of followers that thinks Deadpool 3 is going to “SUCK”:

What’s the cause for worry about Deadpool 3?
What’s causing worry about Deadpool 3 is that it’s another Multiverse flick. Aside from Spider-Man: No Way Home, the MCU’s Multiverse has indeed sucked.
It’s claimed that in Deadpool 3, Deadpool travels the Fox Marvel Multiverse which is how he meets up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
Comparisons are being made to both Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Flash, with the former a so-so movie and the latter an absolute bomb.
Rumors offer the flick will actually feature a lot of footage from the Fox X-Men movies, so it won’t be new footage, but will see Deadpool and Wolverine running through the Multiverse and appearing in scenes from those old movies. It’s actually claimed something like 20% of DP 3 will feature old footage. Yikes.
Owen Wilson is also said to have been spotted on set, as previously it has been claimed Wilson will be in the movie as his character from the Loki series, where the TVA is hot on the heels of Wade Wilson, as Deadpool travels throughout the Multiverse.
I actually don’t mind that plot detail but the Marvel Disney+ shows don’t exactly get watched by a lot of fans, so will the general audience have a clue what’s going on? If true, Wilson will also be appearing in Deadpool 3 in May while previously appearing in Loki Season 2 in October. Well, Jonathan Majors is also set to be featured in Loki Season 2 who is currently in a heap of controversy.
What else?
The cameos.
Lots of cameos are expected in Deadpool 3, but how good will they be? Lots of cameos were expected in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but that didn’t happen, as Feige seems to be saving them for Avengers: Secret Wars.
The latest rumors offer Elizabeth Olen will appear as Scarlet Witch, and even that Chris Evans will appear, who might not appear as Captain America, but we can guess that Chris Evans might be back as the Human Torch from the Fox Fantastic Four movies. which would be pretty cool. I think Evans makes sense, but maybe not Olsen, again as DS2 was a big disappointment.
Leaked 4Chan plot details actually offer what sounds like Elizabeth Olsen will have a big role in Deadpool 3 which affect the Fox X-Men movies. While I’m not going to post the specifics, I think that is primarily what a lot of fans aren’t liking, as it is claimed those 4Chan leaks are legit.
So with Olsen being featured, that is where the comparisons to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness come in. Being optimistic, maybe Feige will get this right the second time, eh?
