Kevin Smith’s He-Man Netflix animated series may indeed be woke, possibly confirming earlier rumors and speculation.
Note: Possible spoilers follow.
Last year saw it rumored that He-Man would be replaced by Teela in the new Kevin Smith animated series coming to Netflix this Summer, which wouldn’t be a surprise at all and would fit with Hollywood’s agenda of replacing male characters (Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Terminator, Doctor Who, etc).
So why not replace the manliest of all, not to mention He-Man is blond?
While previously Kevin Smith seemed to have refuted and shot down the rumor by stating his series is “all about He-Man,” that remains to be seen as an action figure for the series has hit the net that potentially may offer otherwise, in addition to the recent first look images.
Again, we are in spoiler territory.
Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela in ‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation’
Skeletor’s final form revealed
A Masters of the Universe: Revelation action figure reveals a major spoiler in that the “final form” of Skeletor is revealed — Skelegod (check out pics below). Here is the description (bold my own):
Skeletor has shown us his final form! After he comes into possession of the Power Sword, he becomes the ultra scary Skelegod! Look out!
So we see from the action figure that Skeletor apparently defeats He-Man and gets possessions of the Power Sword, gets the “Power of Grayskull,” has “The Power,” and becomes Skelegod.
So how does that make Kevin Smith’s He-Man series woke?
Per Kevin Smith’s official description that he released last year (bold my own):
But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures Eternia, it’s up to Teela to solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to prevent the end of the Universe! Her journey will uncover the secrets of Grayskull at last.
So apparently the Kevin Smith series will see He-Man defeated by Skeletor who becomes Skelegod where Teela then becomes the focus and more than likely defeats Skeletor and ends up with the Power Sword becoming “She-Man.”
Twitter users (see below) even think it gets worse than that as it is guessed Evil-Lyn will side with Teela against Skelegod. Worth a mention is that the official image below features Evil-Lyn side-by-side Teela.
Regarding what happens to He-Man, we can guess after being defeated by Skeletor (in the first episode or so), the weak and wimpy Prince Adam will either be held captive by Skelegod, hence why Teela takes over the quest to get the Power Sword back, or even that He-Man may be killed off, again which wouldn’t be a surprise.
Also, as I previously pointed out, the show is not called “HE-MAN Masters of the Universe: Revelation,” but just “Masters of the Universe: Revelation.”
Thanks, Kevin.
I’ll also add it would have been nice if Netflix and Mattel had kept the Skelegod figure on the down low, as it is a HUGE spoiler for the show.
Update: He-Man fraud exposed; Kevin Smith not a fan; all about Teela.
Update #2: Kevin Smith has responded to claims his He-Man is woke.
Orko (Griffin Newman), Andra (Tiffany Smith), Teela (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Roboto (Justin Long), and Evil-Lyn (Lena Headey)
Twitter users think Kevin Smith’s He-Man will be woke:
So first we get “a ferocious final battle” between He-Man and Skeletor where He-Man looses, then Skeletor takes over Eternia and we end up with post-apocalypse Teela and her “resistance fighters” on a journey to save the Universe? pic.twitter.com/QScAH1ScoE

Evil-Lyn appears to side with Teela for more girl power.
Skelegod either banishes her feeling like he no longer needs her, and/or she feels like he has too much power and he needs to be stopped.— VexarDave (@VexarDave) May 22, 2021
Oh, you SO just made it worse…
And I wouldn’t put it past them.

Well, Kevin Smith is the one who started the “rumor” when he first announced the series at Power-Con and gave this official show synopsis highlighting Teela… pic.twitter.com/qw6QpmgyOG
