A rumor currently circulating online is offering that Tom Holland may appear as Spider-Man in Captain Marvel 2 and have a crush on Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers.
It’s said that following The Avengers: Endgame where Peter first ran into Captain Marvel, and seeing how in Spider-Man: Far From Home he was the first to name her, that Spider-Man will appear in Captain Marvel 2 where he has some sort of crush on Brie Larson’s character.
The rumor may or may not be true, but interestingly enough, it is similar to that earlier rumor that offered Disney is losing confidence in Captain Marvel, which said Kevin Feige wants to use Spider-Man to bolster Captain Marvel by being the butt of jokes and would be bringing much-needed humor to Carol Danvers. The rumor further claims Captain Marvel will humiliate Spider-Man in order to promote Disney’s PC feminist agenda that shows females as being better than males.
Spider-Man has Captain Marvel crush?
The Spider-Man Captain Marvel crush is sort of odd, as Peter is with MJ, but there was that weird scene in Far From Home where Peter was changing clothes in front of an older female character, so this sort of goes along with that, I suppose; Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is around 16-years-old, with the Brie Larson Captain Marvel around 30 years old. Of course, if things were switched, and MJ was changing in front of an older man or has a crush on Robert Downey Jr. (while dating Peter), people would flip their lid.
What I also find interesting is that rumors are offering Captain Marvel 2 will feature a popular Marvel character with Spider-Man. It’s known a lot of MCU fans haven’t been happy at all with Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, so Kevin Feige using Spider-Man in an attempt to further humanize and make the character more relatable and likeable could be true. Prior to the release of Captain Marvel, it was said Brie Larson and Carol Danvers are supposed to be the new face of the MCU, the most powerful character in the MCU, and even the leader of a new Avengers team, but a sequel has yet to be announced, with no sequel announced for Phase 4.
I’m not sure if teaming Captain Marvel with Spider-Man would be the way to go, as the two characters really have nothing in common, and this seems as if it would all come about as being a bit forced, so if these rumors are true, look for the troubles surrounding Brie Larson in the MCU to continue.
