The CW is developing a TV series based on The Lost Boys vampire movie from 1987.
While initially it was going to be an anthology series, now The Lost Boys will be a TV series closer to the movie version that starred Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.
The series is described as being set in Santa Carla and explores the secret underworld of vampires. After the sudden death of their father, two brothers move to Santa Carla with their mother, who hopes to start anew in the town where she grew up. But the brothers find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the seductive world of Santa Carla’s eternally beautiful and youthful undead.
The Lost Boys is being developed by iZombie showrunner Rob Thomas, Heather Mitchell (Still Star-Crossed, Scandal) is writing the script and executive producing alongside Thomas, his Spondoolie topper Dan Etheridge and Gulfstream’s Mike Karz and Bill Bindley. It’s note the pickup comes as Thomas’ CW iZombie series is set to end its run this season.
