It’s learned Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season 6 will debut next July, following Marvel Studios releasing Spider-Man: Far Home featuring SHIELD agents Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.
Clark Gregg confirmed the series will be back this Summer, with Elizabeth Hentridge recently remarking to a fan on Instagram that Agents of SHIELD returns July 2019.
Agents of SHIELD is currently on a hiatus while the MCU movies use SHIELD again, as Jackson and Smulders returned in The Avengers: Infinity War post-credit scene, Jackson and Clark Gregg are featured in Captain Marvel, and some of the agents are in the aforementioned Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel.
Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two different companies at Disney, with Marvel Studios getting the pick of the litter; so as the movies again use the SHIELD agents, the TV show conveniently goes dark. As I said previously, that’s not that big of a deal as Agents of SHIELD is much better without having to connect to the MCU movies, and going on a hiatus means they don’t have to deal directly with what happened in Infinity War.

Spider-Man: Far Home gets released July 5, so expect Agents of SHIELD Season 6 to premiere on ABC following that some time.
Not much is known about Agents of SHIELD Season 6, but Clark Gregg is directing the first episode, which is titled “Missing Pieces.”
The new season is currently filming, and it’s also known that fan-favorite Jeff Ward returns as Deke, the timeline-jumping grandson of Fitz and Simmons.
ABC also recently hinted the show could have a future – meaning more seasons – as ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said the fans are really loyal and the show does well with DVR viewings (it also has a big international audience).
