Marvel TV announces that Legion has been renewed for a Season 3.
The mind-bending story of Legion will continue, as FX has ordered a third season of the acclaimed drama series from creator and executive producer Noah Hawley. There are two episodes still to air for Legion Season 2, including an additional 11th episode that was recently announced. Legion will then return for Season 3 in 2019.
The renewal announcement came via Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. Said Schrier, “Legion has redefined the superhero drama and exceeded all expectations as the intensity and revelation build through the second season. We are incredibly proud of Noah Hawley’s achievement and are honored to continue the series as it pushes the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. We are also grateful for the contributions of our executive producers, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Nathaniel Halperin, and Jeph Loeb with Marvel Television, as well as our outstanding cast and crew of this groundbreaking show.”
The next episode of Legion, “Chapter 18” — written by Noah Hawley & Nathaniel Halpern and directed by Dana Gonzales — airs Tuesday, June 5 at 10pm ET/PT on FX.
